Mostly flat water. Some minor chop/swell when tide comes up. Huge pier into the ocean. Beach is clean and free of junk. Virtually no shells/rocks. On lower tides there's miles of room to launch and land. On the highest tides, there's no room at all. That's when you go around the corner to Neptunes Aquarium beach. At the pier, there is a sand bar a couple of hundred metres (not sure exactly how far) offshore, which is exposed when the tide is lower. Normally (on a SE) you kite from the beach to the bar and back again. There is an emergency ladder on the pier which is accessible from this sand bar if required (broken kite or line etc). Season normally lasts until April or so, when the winds tend W and SW and get patchy. Wind is average of 10-15 kts, up to 20+ kts sometimes. During summer, the normal wind direction is SE. SE is best, as it is sideshore. ESE and E (sideonshore) are fine too. Good spot on low tide with SE wind. Air temps over the season average from low 20's (at the beginning) to mid 30's in the middle of Summer. Water is normally a few degrees lower. A wetsuit (short suit) is nice at the beginning and end of the season. Only a rashie (and lots of sunscreen) required during summer though. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Shower, Toilet, Food. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
