Launch site works with East or West wind. It is located in a bit of a bay so if you are dragged down wind, its still easy to get back to shore. Hazards to watch for are the rocks. Lines get snagged on them very easily and your kite could be damaged. Do not attempt to self launch or land without an assistant unless you bring an anchor. There are not many kiters in Slave Lake.
