The water is choppy and never has big waves. Typical Mediterranean Sea (although it is no inside the Mediterranean Sea). No Atlantic ocean waves. The beach is 50km long! As nice as you can get one with very clean white sand. No rocks in the 20km radius. During the summer you have wind every day. It is some sort of effect that brings the SW wind during every single summer day to the East coast of Algarve (Altura is located in the middle). Wind from 12-20 knots during the summer, 15-25 when the good East wind enters in the winter. Wind side to sideon from either side (East, SE or SW). October to April it is a five star spot for the East wind that comes from Gibraltar (only works in the south of Portugal). Water is warm 20-23°C. Short wetsuit during summer or 3/3 long for the East winter wind. Summer from May to end of September. Water: Chop. Features: Rooms, Rescue, Shower, Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
