Long, sandy beach. Sunbathers and swimmers normally stick to the main beach of Clacton, but there are 4 bays further west with plenty of space and plenty of sand for easy set up and launching of kites. Unless its a really hot day or a bank holiday, you might have space on the beach, but you will not find anywhere to park. Large rocks and jetties wooden sewage pipe holder in main kite beach. Best with NE to E and SW. 3mm wetsuit in the summer, 5mm in spring and autumn. Surfing is all year round for those who don't mind the cold. The sea is up at 16°C in summer and down to 8°C in winter. Season May to October. Water: Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
