Cocos Island is an incredible place to kiteboard, but only if you are able to consistently stay upwind. There are a lot of other water sports going on in the area as well which you need to watch out for. Beautiful water with flat and choppy water and shallow areas. Shoes are recommended due to the reef. Tidal beach. Sandy beach around the island. Best wind directions: East and ENE. East trade winds 10-20mph normally. Winds occasionally shift from the NE. Trade winds are normally out of the East at about 10-20 mph on Guam. Best wind is during the months of September thru May, but there are winds pretty much year round. The average air temperature is 83°F all year. Shorts all year. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop. Features: None. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
