Usually small waves (2 to 3 feet), some areas are very shallow so you can get flat water and some small surf at the same time. DO NOT RIDE at north beach unless you are an advanced level rider. The inlet can get busy with boat traffic and bull sharks. For experienced riders only! Nice and sandy beach. If you go there, cross over the wooden footbridge, at the water, walk to the right to the far north end of the beach near the inlet. The strong winds come in the winter and are frontal, so not really predictable. A nice sea breeze comes in during the spring and fall, but summer has very light winds. Usually just shorts. A couple of cold weeks in the winter, but very warm compared to anywhere not tropical. Then a shorty should be fine. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Expert.
