Honshu / Futtsumisaki South

With strong wind, the waves become medium high (> 1m) and makes the start a bit difficult. Big sandy beach with lots of space. The beach is dirty (plastics mainly) but there is a lot of space to launch and anchors in the sand for self launch. Due to the two mass of land: Chiba on the East and Yokohama area on the West, there is a Venturi effect with South wind on this beach. The wind is therefore good but usually strait onshore. Probably the best spot for Tokyo after the rainy season (Mid July to August) with thermal building up in the afternoon. Cold in winter (6 mm wetsuit or drysuit mandatory). Hot in summer (bodysuit recommended). Water: Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: None. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
