A sandbar rests about 250-300 yards off the beach, which creates flat, waist deep water. Outside the sandbar, waves break onto the sandbar. Wave size depends on wind strength, usually 2-4ft waves. Smaller beach, which makes launching challenging. Launching is easiest when assisted or carrying your kite to the water and self-launching. Landing is best done with the help of an assistant or dropping kite in the water and pulling it toward you to recover it. All types of south wind can be ridden here. Blows stronger and more consistent in the spring. Wind S, SE, SW, W, E. Winds near storm fronts are usually stronger then predicted. Mid-afternoon sessions 12pm-5pm are the best in the summer with help of thermals. Summer: water temp 70-80°F. Summer riding is bliss due to warm water and air temperature. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
