Lake Hattie

Clean fresh water, very flat to choppy. Rock and pebble beaches sideshore launch from all directions. From the launch it is about a half mile downwinder. Wide open areas. Launch from anywhere around the lake. Best is the southeast tip and northeast bay, depending on winds. This is a consistent west thermal wind, generally if it is a hot sunny day and there is snow on the snowy range then there is wind. 10-40kts are possible, this is not a beginner area. Light to big wind sailing, normally westerly winds, sometime shifting north or south if a squall is passing through. Wetsuit in summer, steamer or drysuit in spring and fall. Water: Flat, Chop. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
