Lake Ontario / Richardson Beach

Open, deep water. Medium to large chop when blowing from Southwest. Pebble and rock beach. Medium size grassy area for launch and landing. Not for beginners. Trees, power-lines and busy road are along the shoreline where you would land/drift in during typical SW winds. Not a problem for experienced riders, but caution should still be used. Launch off the PUC dock/grass area to avoid windsurfers downwind at the actual `beach`. Typically Southwest sideonshore due to consistent thermals (world famous). 11-19 knots normal (14 knots average), with late season winds in the range of 15-25 knots. Best when Southwest or South. Lake temperatures cool until midsummer (shorty or full suit), with July to September being the warmest period. Water: Chop, Smallwave. Features: Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
