Playa Horizonte

You can find very good waves at this spot. With NE it is quite choppy but a few meters to the south you find another beach with flat water. With S an SE there are very good waves with quite flat water on the rest. Sometimes could be some current up to 2 knots approx. Only a few underwater rocks on the north end of the beach. The beach is wide with no special regulations. Nice and soft sand. You can drive there with a 4x4. In winter there is nobody there, but in the summer it is full of people, but you can ride anyway, because there is plenty of space for launching. Approx. 2-3 kiteable days per week. Usual directions SE, S and NE. Winter: best wind is SE and S, from 10-35 knots. Depending of frontal systems. Summer: best wind is NE. It is a thermal wind starting at 1pm approx. up to 20 knots, but it is not very predictable. You can also get on summer some frontal systems from the South an SE. Water: winter quite cold, approx. 11°C, summer up to approx. 16°C. Neoprene is required all year. Only on some hot summer days you can ride in shorts. Water: Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Shop, Shower, Toilet, Food. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
