Flat to choppy water, some shallow areas. Hells Gates is located about 1 km further out. This spot can get very rough with very big waves and is only for the experienced rider. Big, sandy spit. A grassed area for rigging sets this up as one of Geraldton's best local areas. The Point is the windiest location in Geraldton as it is situated at the end of a land mass that just 4 km out to sea and therefore receives the wind first. It is perfect in the mornings for beginners with the late morning and afternoon providing the right conditions for intermediate and advanced windsurfing and kitesurfing. It constantly tops 20 knots and more during summer. Mainly SW wind, but in the afternoon the sea breeze can kick in from the North. Hot and dry during the windy season October to April. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave, Mediumwave, Bigwave. Features: Shower, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
