Sailing area is a large bay. Flat to choppy water with a shallow area. Tidal spot. Sandbar several hundred yards from shore. Nice waves on a Southeasterly wind. Southwesterly winds flatten the waves and make for flat water kiting. At high tide, the water comes right up to the dunes, so the best times to ride are during a falling tide, or low tide. Launch area at low tide is over a sandbar that is several hundred yards from shore. Two obstacles to consider - remnants of anti-erosion barriers (mostly buried and easily avoided), and power lines. Which are relatively close to high tide shoreline on the Eastern end of the beach. Generally southerly winds, onshore. Maritime weather. Varying conditions, unpredictable. Season from mid July to late September, water ranges from 66-74°F. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Food. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
