Best wind season is mid-summer, though it can blow year round. Wind with too much north in it does not hit this spot, though you will see a strong windline 1/4 mile out. Look for hazy-blue summer day in San Diego with 10 knot winds. Odds are, Rauls will be blowing 18-25 knots. Get there early, around 10am if possible. Usually blows 50% stronger than the San Diego spots, and gets gustier as the day goes on (and wind pushes more and more North), until it is nearly unrideable (usually by 3pm). The wind never really recovers after this. Water: Mediumwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
