St. Pere Pescador

The water is shallow till about 20m. In the summer the water is rather flat. Out of summer season, the water everyday can change more, max waves are about 1.5m. Easy water to learn. Very long, sandy beach. Lots of access to the beach, but not all for free. Via the camping grounds a fee will be charged. July and August, mostly thermal onshore wind when there is sun. Between 13.00h and 18.00h about 13-20 knots. If there is less sun, or in April, May, June, September and October, the wind is more different and varies more. This year was a good year, most of the days there was wind between 15-25 knots. They say it is a cycle of 4 years of 'good wind' and this year was the first, because the 4 years before where not that good. Also they say: good wind/a good summer here means bad wind/bad summer in Tarifa, and vise versa. 2003 was a bad summer in Tarifa. So next 3 years to St.Pere Pescador and than back to Tarifa. With North wind (Tramontana) wind is with gusts. With a bow it's better. Southeast is the best wind here. Mostly sunny, which means a lot of thermal onshore wind. Up to 35°C in summer. Water: Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Camping, Shop, Rescue, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
