It's an island in a lake. Depending on what side of the island you are on the waves can get to around 5-7 feet at times. There are beaches in every wind direction on the island all ranging from a mile long to 2 miles long. There are four beaches in all directions N, E, S, W. Three of the beaches are nice soft sand that gets very hot at times. And the beach facing the south is very hard packed sand with shallow waters. All the beaches have more then enough space to launch any size kite safely and land. During summer the wind comes and goes. Fall months are pretty much windy every day. Spring wind can be very good. During the summer it is typical Ontario weather. The water can get pretty warm during the summer and it is not necessary for a wetsuit. Getting in to September you need a wetsuit and after that it's drysuit season. The season can be all year as long as you have a drysuit and the water dose not freeze in the winter months. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
