Grindstone Lake is a large spring feed lake. It's really deep and usually stays pretty chilly into the early part of summer. Decent wind and not very crowded. Not any beaches. Getting onto the lake is a difficult and you'll have to do some swimming and launch from the water unless you know someone who lives on the lake. Average wind there I'd say is about 5-15 mph. Better bring your big kite. Typical MN weather. Kinda unpredictable. Unless you're a local or on your way to Lake Superior, probably not worth a long drive. In the winter it makes for some nice kitesnowboarding though! Water: Flat, Chop. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
