Very big lagoon (several km). The lagoon is very beautiful with very clear water and a bit choppy because of its size. Not really a spot where you will be able to ride the waves as the wind is sideonshore and there is a ripping current in the passes. Most of Roches Noires is beautiful sand, but these beaches are hard of access as the land along the coast is all privately owned and built up with cottages and bungalows. Best period is during SE trade wind period. Summer with less wind, unless there is a cyclone in the area (beware of their gusty winds). Sideonshore wind conditions most of the time. Winter in the 20°C and summer 25-30°C. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop. Features: Rooms. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
