Somo, and the Cantabria region in general, is a beautiful wave spot. In case of lack of wind, you can rent a surfboard and still have a lot of fun. The tide is very present. Beside the fact that there are waves, which can bother the beginners, it is an easy spot, for about any level. The sandy beach is beautiful and enormous. The kiters usually collect on the left side of the beach. Central part is for swimmers and right part of the beach for surfers. There is plenty of space for anybody. In summertime it mostly works with thermal wind: it usually starts blowing at 2-4 pm from NE. In case of bad weather you can have wind from NW. The water is quite warm in summer: at worse you will use a shorty. Colder during winter, wetsuit needed. Water: Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Rooms, Camping, Shop, Shower, Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
