This is the Gorge, kiting on the Columbia River. Conditions range from chop to rolling swell when it has 30+ knots. Fast current, do not ride alone or you can loose your board quickly. Beach consists of round pebbles. Watch out for very hot launches, best to launch from the point. Wind goes psycho when from the North. Forecasts reliable. Rufus works when there is a cloud line on Hood River, sucking the wind straight east. Winds can be very steady but also very gusty. Temps range from full suit in spring to shorty in summer. Water: Chop, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Camping, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
