Cozumel / Punta Sur

The water is wavy as are all the locations on `the other side of the island` as we like to call it, on great Southeast winds waves will get bigger. The beach there gets longer or shorter during certain seasons, but is mostly good enough for launching. It is also called Punta Celarain because thats the local name for the lighthouse. Rocks at the south tip. The most usual is the East, not always strong but good, and when we get a cold front or hurricane close by you will have great winds so check out the weather a few days ahead and come on over. We have a wind pattern where you get a few days with good winds then it will switch East. It stays there a couple of days and then switches South and if it is strong it means you will have good winds from the North which we call Brisote or Norte depending on the direction and strength. So all you have to do is wait for the proper conditions. East is the dominant wind direction and the preferable time is between February (carnival!) to May. If you live in cold places this will be heaven. Warm water and air. Every other Norte in November to December you might need a wetsuit/shorty. Water: Chop, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Parking.
