Take the first driveway to the west of Waitetoko Rd, it looks like a private driveway but actually opens up to a large grass area perfect for self launching and landing. Self landing is made easy by dropping your kite into the wind shadow behind the houses. W is the best sideshore wind with NW being ok but is almost onshore. Lake Taupo is cold in winter with strong S wind. Water: Chop, Smallwave. Features: Shop, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
