The wave spot of Guadeloupe. Probably waves up to 3m and more on stormy days. The waves crash into the reef which has been widely spread over the course of time. Because of the strong waves and the scattered reef, I would bet there are strong currents at some places. This is not beginner's beach, but a highlight for wave riders who know what they are doing. The beach itself is sandy, but in the water are a lot of scattered reef-slabs with sea-urchins. The exact place to go into and out of the water is important, but not so easy to see. Ask the local kiters for advice. Be careful kiting in light winds: if you miss the exit, climbing out of the water might be painful. The main wind is E-NE all the year. Windy season starts in December (NE wind), but February is probably the best time to be there, because then the wind is guaranteed and comes from the East. Wind is lighter in December (3-5 Bft.) and gets stronger during the season. Because of the North-eastern face of the beach, this is the first spot that works when the windy season starts. The climate is tropical. Nice and warm year round. The rain season is from June to December. Water: Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Shower, Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
