No piers, harbor heads, hard constructions in the water. Noordwijk is situated along the North Sea. Expect wind waves breaking on mainly 3 sandbars - one after another - seawards. This means 3 wave breaking sections. Depending on the wind strength the waves varies between 0.5 m (3 Bft) to 4 m (8 Bft), of course depending on wind directions. During high tide the current is running from South to North (i.e. from left to right). During low tide the current is running in opposite direction, so from North to South (i.e. from right to left). Best conditions are when wind and current are in opposite directions. This means high tide with wind directions from the North (N, NE) and low tide with wind directions from the South (W, SW). Sandy beach for miles and miles. But it is not allowed to kite in front of the two boulevards, except for the spot of the surf club, on the south boulevard. Also miles of beach left to the south and to the north. Mainly depending on depressions. Usual directions: 30% SW (from the left), 20% W, 20% NW (perpendicular on shoreline), 10% N (from right), 20% other. Best wind direction is SW or NE. Spring and autumn will produce generally SW winds and summer mostly NE winds. Season lasts from April to December. Expect to wear your 5/4 or 4/3 mm wetsuit all year round. Water temperature varies from 8°C in winter/early spring to 20°C in summer. Air temperature varies from -5°C till 12°C in winter, early spring to 20°C up to 30°C in summer. In general you will be accompanied by other kite/wind surfers when the air temp. is above 7°C. Water: Chop, Smallwave, Mediumwave, Bigwave. Features: Rooms, School, Shop, Rescue, Shower, Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
