Noosa River Mouth

Flat water in the river mouth, surf on the ocean side. Great for learning in waist deep warm water or wave riding where the river mouth meets the sea. Watch out for tides. NE wind, outgoing tide for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Out front surfing depending on sand banks. Sandy beach on the ocean side. Walk out as deep as possible to launch so you are away from the beach (sandy shallows). To ride the river mouth for flat water you need NE winds. Main season from September to February. Water temps in summer is warm from 22-25°C and in winter the temp goes down to about 17°C. Thin wetsuits are needed in winter but in summer the only protection you may need is a rash vest for the sun. Water: Shallow, Flat, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Camping, Shop, Shower, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
