Wollongong Beach

Flat to choppy water. Shallow area in front of the beach. Watch out for fishing nets in the water. 3km wide sand beach. Crowded in winter on Fridays. There is one official kitebeach, it is not allowed to launch and land anywhere else. The kitebeach is marked in the North by the end of the sand soccer field and in the South by the abandoned beach villa. Normally light to moderate wind. Wind normally starts from noon and is onshore or sideonshore. December to April are the best months - wind is normally 10-20 knots. October and November are the worst months 6-10 knots. Summer (May to September): air very hot 38-45°C, water about 35°C. Winter (December to February): air warm 25°C, water 22-25°C. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop. Features: Shop, Food, Parking.
