Columbia River / Rooster Rock

River water, flat/chop or swell. Tides of the Columbia can make it hard to stay up wind when the east blows. Waves not too harsh. Depending on river level there can be a large sandy area. Not much sand in the spring to plenty in the fall. Best on fall. East wind September and October. East wind will rip through here in the fall and winter. 20+ mph common. Warm water from late May until September/October. Full wetsuit 3-4mm from October to late May. Shorties in the summer months. Possible all year. Water: Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Camping, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
