Damon Point

Great wave sailing on one side, and flat water in the protected bay on the other side. At Damon you can go on the surf side and it will be smaller than the CLRV reading. Damon can be a bit burly surf side though since it beach breaks pretty hard on the first wave rather than stair stepping like Manzanita or curling like the points and jetties. If it is too big, now that the road is fixed you can bay sail off the end again in Gorge like conditions as well for a safer alternative. Great beach with nice facilities. Works in almost every wind direction. Best from SW, W and easterlies. 4/3 wetsuit late spring, shorty to board shorts in late June through July and August. Water temp 50°F late spring to upper 60's°F in August (tide will effect this more than in Gorge). Air temps 50's to 70°F in spring and 70's to 90's°F in summer. Water: Flat, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Shower, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
