Kauai / Lydgate Park

Ocean, clean, modest tidal action, low surf. Open area, but lave rock formations toward each end of the beach. Public access, next to a state park beach. No life guards on this area. 1000 meters long, with slight curve. Width: 20-50 meters of open sand, with trees coming to the edge of the sand. Kites accepted. Good breeze (12-20 mph) most days during winter and spring, but the direction often is too onshore. Rides well with North and Northeast winds, but easterly is pretty onshore. Warm all year round. Frequent scattered showers during December to May. Water: Shallow, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Shower, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
