Water at Long Point is shallow close to shore with breakers in the first 30 meters over shifting sand bars. Offshore there is a steady rolling swell that can reach over 2m. July and August are the busiest months for beach crowds. Move east from the Abigail Becker entry-point and look for the designated launch site. If none is there, set one up. Be sure to stay at least 200 feet from nearest bather, leave the beach quickly and stay at least 200 feet from shore. The beach is relatively deserted rest of the year. Great wind in April to June and September to November. Water warms up quickly near shore but can still be cold offshore. Water: Shallow, Smallwave, Mediumwave. Features: Rooms, Camping, Shop, Shower, Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
