Lake Michigan / Esch Road Beach

The water is extremely clean along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. This is a standard beach break. There is a nice shallow sandy, shallow bottom for about 50 yards out, and then it drops off. On a SW the chop and waves are minimal. On a Northwest the waves can form in nice and clean, very fun to play in. This is a very secluded beautiful beach. On a Northwest you have a huge arching coastline that no matter what goes wrong you will eventually end up at. Pure sand bottom and plenty of room for tons of riders. Very good spot for beginners. Although South is sideshore it doesn't not work well here. 10 and 14 meter kites are used in the spring and fall. Lighter winds the norm for the summer. 2-3 days a week are usual in spring. 1-2 days a week for the summer. 3+ the norm for fall. Warm in summer, no wetsuit needed. Otherwise wetsuit needed. Water: Chop, Smallwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
