War Horse Lake

May not always have water, the lake was mostly dry for about 15 years prior to 2008. As of 7/09 its completely full. No boats, no people at all. You will have the whole lake to yourself. Lake bottom is grassy and solid. Long walk-out shore line and shallow for extended distance throughout the whole lake. Nice grassy launches but north side of lake has prickly pear so watch out for these. Launch from anywhere which gives you the best advantage. It's not alkali goo along the shore, it's good grassy shore on the south side. Any wind direction works for this lake. If its 12+ you can pick your location. All public land. Be able to self launch/land. Use your pickup to launch from. Wind is clean from any direction but definitely check the forecast before going. It's good when it's good and dead when it's not.
