At low tide there are several coral heads that break the surface out in front of the launching area. Also you will find about 20 or so buoys with lines attached floating out there. There is a strong current at certain phases of the tide. During the day sometimes many small boats will moor and deposit tourist snorkelers in the area of the buoys. This beach is a great place for advanced and expert riders only. There are many hazards to be aware of. The first being jagged volcanic rock islands and shoreline in the immediate area. The best place to launch is near the Tambisaan Beach sign. The wind blows sideonshore port tack. A constant wind which averages 15-25 knots, sometimes reaches 30-35 knots (about 10 times per season). Blows constant the whole day. It has wind from mid November till beginning of April. But the best time to go for wind is between December and February when the wind is at its best. November winds are very unpredictable, but December, January and February are very consistent. Mainly NE winds, gustier with E Winds. During off season SW winds. Generally, the best time to travel is from the middle of December to the middle of May (off-season for typhoons). It's hot all year round. The water is warm and no wetsuit is needed. Water: Chop.
