The first 800m from the shore are shallow and flat. At the outher sandbar you can find breaking waves from 1m up to 4m. The waves are not powerful or dangerous. Only a small sandy beach, in December and January there are about 100 windsurfer every day. The spot is big enough for everyone. The kitezone is 300m downwind. There are separate launching zones for kiters and windsurfers - windsurf rigging and launch zone is to the south; kitesurfing rigging and launch zone is on the northern end of the carpark. The closest weather station is at Drummond Cove, 15km south of Coronation Beach. Sea breeze (SW) from October to April: +/-80% , +/-20 knts. In the morning about 15knts, in the afternoon about 22knts. There can be large and dangerous waves offshore when a big swell is running. Take care on the outer reefs - if you get in trouble, there is no rescue option but to swim in to the beach. Hot and dry during the windy season October to April. Air temperatures often reach 40°C but can fall to 16°C at night. Water: Shallow, Flat, Smallwave, Mediumwave, Bigwave. Features: Camping, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
