Good waves with flat water in between. At some areas few wave breakers. All of Durban's beaches are shark netted. Sandy beach with lots of space. Watch out for sun bathers. The windy season for Durban runs from about September to March but has wind throughout the year. The prevailing wind is NNE (sideonshore). The location is best in NNE and NE winds but can also support winds through to southerly. Durban is situated on the East Coast of South Africa and enjoys a warm sub-tropical climate year-round with temperatures in the mid to low twenties even in winter. Water about 20°C.
