The tidal flow is not that big and does not have a huge effect on the location. Durban generally has good size waves, with average swells around 4 ft. If you are after waves this is the spot. Durban has sandy beaches and offers some of the best infrastructure around; showers / grass area to rig up and car guards who watch the cars and also assist in pumping up your kites and setting up your lines, they also help out in packing up and rinsing down. Lots of space. The wind is sideonshore here (NE) and the wind blows pretty much throughout the year, but the main season is August till December. Durban is sub tropical so the water temperature is pretty warm year round with an average around 20°C. The air temp is also pretty warm with average air temp of around 25°C.
