It's a wave spot. In summer and with low tide not so big waves. Always respect the surfers, they are usually at the right side of the beach near the cliff and if you can go upwind quickly you should not bother them. Sometimes strong currents. Sand beach about 300m long and 70m wide. Beach surrounded by cliffs, in downwind direction there are no more beaches that you can go out of the water with out a lot of troubles if something goes wrong especially dangerous with waves. You have to be good in going upwind because if not you end at the rocks of the right side. When not staying upwind, go to the open ocean and the wind is better there. The only direction of wind is Northeast, the more East the better. With North the wind is very turbulent at the beach. Gusty near shore because of the little mountain of the left. In summer and when it's blowing 30+ knots in Pozo Izquierdo, then in Playa del Hombre it's about 20 knots. Nice air temps year-round, but water rather cold, so wetsuit always needed (3mm wetsuit all year or less). Lots of sunshine. Water: Mediumwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
