Small to medium sized very clean chop. The water is pretty clean and this place works at all tides but is best at high tide. The beach is about 200m long and flanked by cliffs/hills etc. The beach is sandy with plenty of room to launch/land. There is a reserve for easy landing of kites. Unlike many other spots dotting the headlands, this place is very safe. However there are power lines overhanging the far right hand end of the beach. Needless to say this area is best avoided. The season at this particular spot is during summer but light days during winters also work well here. Summers here are excellent as this place gets strong thermal generated winds. When there is light fickle winds everywhere else in AK this place will be cranking with 15-25 knots of thermal breeze. The thermal breeze is from the SSW so funnels through the headlands perfectly. Air temp winter: 13°C average, sometimes up to 20°C. Air temp summer: 24°C average, sometimes up to 30°C. Water temp can get very warm during summer. Over 30°C so wetsuit definitely not required. Rash shirt for protection from the sun. Water: Shallow, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Shower, Toilet, Food. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
