Shallow water riding in the bay of Lake Mendota on the Northern shoreline of an inland lake. Medium sized lake. The entire bay is shallow or check out the deeper areas for bigger chop. Beach access protected by retaining walls. About 300-400 foot long beach for launching. In the summer, swimming buoys require riders to launch outside the buoys. Spring and fall riders can launch right from the beach. Typical winds are 10-20 and 15-25 when it blows and even windier a couple times a month. Summer tends to be the lightest winds. Spring and fall winds are the best. Works in these directions: NE, E, SE, S (S is best). Season from early spring (April) to late fall (November). Wetsuit needed almost all of the time, summer warmer. Drysuit needed for April and late October through November. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop. Features: Shower, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
