The launch used to be at Bonnabel Boat Launch. Now we launch at the Bucktown Marina. Walk out in the water and figure out the best path through the rocks before you put the kite in the air. The water is shallow out about 100 yards. Flat to choppy water. Look out for a submerged pilings near shore. Walk out in the water as far as possible before you start riding. Avoid riding near shore due to underwater hazards. Usually ride here on cold fronts in the winter. Fairly constant NW 15-20+ Most cold fronts come in with wind early in he morning dying by noon. On other conditions watch the clouds for unexpected gusts from thunderstorms. Hurricanes and tropical storms send wind through from late summer through October. Hot and humid in the summer. Wetsuit in the winter time when cold air from the fronts blow through. Water temps varies with the seasons. Very warm in the summer and cools off to wetsuit temperatures in winter. You need boots for rocks. Water: Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
