River mouth can offers some excellent flat water 2 or 3 hours either side of high tide and a good standing depth in which to do some practice skills. The waves at the entrance to the river are usually less crowded and give the more experienced rider an awesome playground. Tide restrictions: watch out for a strong tide in the river mouth at peak times. Only launchable 2 hrs either side of high tide. Very little water in river at low tide, board leash required if tide is strong or you will loose your gear! Long beach, about 300m wide. Lots of space. NE, N, NW, W are the best directions. Typical UK conditions. Wetsuit all year needed, summer maybe without. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Smallwave. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
