Typhoon Lagoon is actually an ancient Hawaiian fish pond. Silky smooth on the inside, point breaks on the outside and big blue ocean swells on the outside. Wind direction changes, but it is generally sideoffshore making for perfect wave riding. The beach is short, followed by 100m of `seashore grass` and golf course type grass. Wind can absolutely rip through Maui's volcanoes blessing Typhoon Lagoon with `smoking wind`. Often experienced local riders venture out on 13, 16, 19m lines to deal with the intense wind. Super windy in the summer, marginal winds in winter. Year round season. Water: Shallow, Flat, Mediumwave, Bigwave. Features: Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
