Depending on wind strength you have 3-6 foot choppy waves. Some parts have nice waves with flatter sections in between. Look out for some buoys or markers in the water. The sandy beach is narrow, about 30 ft wide. be careful when launching, specially with the bystanders and beach goers. Normally more beach goers on a sunny weekend. Best winds from November to April. September to November can have excellent winds due to hurricane systems in the area. Check the weather reports before you go to the beach, or ask locals about any severe forecasts. Summer has light winds. Nice weather all the year. Rain showers and thunderstorms can alway happen. During winter and cold fronts a shorty or even long wetsuit is recommended.
