Norddeich is a tidal spot. Kitesurfing is allowed and possible 5 hours before and after high tide. Very good conditions can be found 3 hours before or after high tide. Beside that times a walk of about 400m must be made to get into the deeper water. Water level also also depends on the wind direction and strength. The water's character varies about every minute with the raise and fall of the waters level. In general Norddeich is a flat water spot, although the water may become pretty choppy. The bottom is muddy. Grassy underground. Enough space to launch and land. In general there is mostly westerly wind. Can be any strength, best in spring and fall, summer lighter. Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop. Features: Shower, Toilet, Food, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
