Ochheuteal Beach

The tide does not make any difference in the conditions. It gets deep quite fast, after about 20 meters or so. It is very choppy with some regular little ramps, further out they get a bit bigger but not real waves. The beach is about 3 km long. Some places very wide other places not so wide but there is always enough space for launching. Even in high tide there is plenty of beach left for launching. A lot of the beach bars and restaurants are right at the beach, so you can take a break in a beach chair just by your gear and only 100 meters from your guest house. The sand is nice and clean. No shells and unfortunately no grass either but the sand is not too 'sticky'. Locals say the wind usually comes in stronger in the afternoon. Everybody said they had never seen kitesurfing before and that we were the first kitesurfers there - maybe theres a reason for that. If the wind is there the spot is fantastic but you might get a little tired of the chop after a while. Tropical climate. Rainy, monsoon season (May to November), dry season (December to April). Little seasonal temperature variation. Extremely warm waters. Bring your boardshorts and/or bikini! Maybe a rash vest for sun protection. It will never be too cold. Water: Chop, Smallwave.
