Best wind season is mid-summer, though it can blow year round. Wind with too much north in it does not hit this spot, though you will see a strong windline 1/4 mile out. Look for hazy-blue summer day in San Diego with 10 knot winds. Odds are, Rauls will be blowing 18-25 knots. Get there early, around 10am if possible. Usually blows 50% stronger than the San Diego spots, and gets gustier as the day goes on (and wind pushes more and more North), until it is nearly unrideable (usually by 3pm).
