Shallow access. Water is not always flat and depends on tidal activity. At low tide there is sandy beach but otherwise you are on a rocky jetty. Then assistance is required for launching and landing. Launch right at the Squamish River mouth from the spit that juts into Howe Sound. Squamish has the most reliable wind near Vancouver from April to October. Typically we are on 10 meter kites. Very reliable 17-24 knot thermal inflow wind. Usually steady. During the summer the wind turns on like a light switch at around 11am. A good wetsuit (4/3) is needed. The water is always cold because the Squamish River comes straight out of the mountains. Booties are optional but not essential. Water: Shallow, Flat, Chop. Features: Camping, School, Rescue, Toilet, Parking. Rider ability: Intermediate, Expert.
