Shallow, mostly flat water with some chop. Despite the name, the water here is quite nice. At the moment, this is a shallow bay protected by two large wave breakers, yielding unusually flat water. This is about as good as it gets in Singapore, but this location is in a state of flux due to land reclamation and access is not easy (see below). The size of the beach varies by tide, but even at low tide there tends to be large sandbanks suitable for rigging and launching. However, due to the ongoing land reclamation project in this part of Singapore, the look of and access to this area could change at any time. Bring bug spray - the place is crawling with sand-flies and they're starving! Try not to get bitten because it itches a bitch for weeks. Largely unshielded from wind from the North and Northeast, and mostly unblocked from the South and West as well. As a result, this location works both during the Northeast monsoon (December to March) and the Southwest monsoon (June to September). Singapore has a tropical climate and you will be able to ride in board shorts. Wear suncream. Water: Shallow, Flat. Features: None. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
