Very shallow on the inside. Sometimes as low as inches for about 100-300 meters from shore. Outside it's choppy with rolling swells farther out. Sandy bottom, only in front of the access concrete rocks and sharp mussels. No real beach to speak of, but there is a large grassy rigging and launching area with a shade gazebo and a fresh water shower. Uphill is a rest area, stay away from there. To enter the water walk to the left side and then further along the shore to not step into mussels and do go upwind easier. Beginners should walk away from shore and launch from there. Windy from April through August out of the SE, generally 15-20mph in the afternoons when the thermals kick in. Windy about 5 out of 7 day in May to June. Winds are out of the SE for almost the entire summer and NE in the winter. The normally thermal wind is onshore here. South Texas, meaning hot in the summer and cool in the winter. Water: Shallow, Chop, Smallwave. Features: Shower, Parking. Rider ability: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert.
